Trash Gurl is a local, woman-owned, and owner-operated company. Owner, Melissa Polutta, is involved in the day-to-day operations of the company and wouldn’t have it any other way!
Melissa (the “gurl” behind Trash Gurl) was born in North Charleston and grew up in the area. Melissa has over 10 years of experience in waste management and founded Trash Gurl in February 2009 with her husband Jeff. Since then, Trash Gurl has grown into one of the top waste disposal companies in the state, providing affordable and efficient services and rentals.

Melissa is not just the face of the company – she’s a vital part of it. One of the first in the office every morning, she spends her days dispatching, handling office business, and making sure her customers are happy.
